Hello! I teach Junior English and African American Literature and Civil Rights at a Title I high school in a small urban community. I love my job and my students immensely.
Not long after getting my teaching certificate, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Battling cancer made it difficult to find the job of my dreams, but I'm grateful to be disease-free and finally in a position that feels like the right fit, a place I can call home for a long time.
I can't say enough about my students. They are funny, charming, challenging, bright, curious, and persistent like no group of young people I've ever met. I am thrilled and honored to be their teacher.
