My first-fifth grade students are absolutely full of energy! They look forward to music, because they know they can expect 45 minutes of energetic learning. Many of my students however, spend the majority of their day at school. Quite a few of these students come to our Title I school and eat breakfast, lunch, and then dinner in the after school program. Although, some of these students do not have much, they are extremely thankful for the few things they do have. They are thankful for a few drums and auxiliary instruments to make music with. They are thankful for a large music room with space to move. My wonderful, energetic, thankful students just need some encouragement and their doors begin to open to their full potential.
