I'm brand new to a special tier 3 school for young mothers in Chicago. Upon walking in, one thing was clear: our students are lively and vibrant, and they have a strong drive to learn. They face many challenges throughout their day, and I want to ensure that they know they are loved, capable, and deserving of an amazing education. However, our building is wildly under-resourced, and our kids face challenges including hunger and homelessness. I am asking for your assistance in obtaining classroom supplies including snacks, a Chromebook and document camera, highlighters, paper, and a high-interest classroom library. My students will benefit immensely from your donations. Our school is currently without critical resources to adequately serve diverse learners, and the availability of technology and materials will ensure all learners have access to a quality education. We are also without a library of any kind, so your contributions will promote a culture of literacy that will affect both our students and their children in incredible ways. These are the toughest kids I know and they deserve to feel valued at school. Thanks so much.
