Our schools were granted iPads for each student in our school and MacBooks for each teacher. Of course we are so fortunate to have this technology in our classrooms but we need to be able to use it to its full capacity.
With access to an Apple TV, students will be able to project projects directly from each of the iPads to the projector. I will also be able to airplay documents, videos, and assignments to the projector from my MacBook where as now, there is no way for my computer to "talk" to the projector.
With access to an Apple TV students will have the ability to Skype another classroom on an iPad, then mirror it on a large screen for all to see, watch the news with the CNN app or the Sky News app, use the iPad as a document camera, display student work, and we will have the ability for each student with an iPad to share her own screen with the class.
Educational technology like an Apple TV can enhance student learning by allowing me to use a variety of different teaching methods. Not all students learn the same, and a TV in the classroom can allow students to interact with information in way that more suits their individual needs. A few more ways Apple TV can enhance student learning is improving flexibility, increase teacher engagement, and it also encourages student participation.
