Our school is located in a rural mining community. I teach 3rd grade reading and social studies. We strive to use reading as a way to take our students outside of their community and expose them to the world. It is critical for their success that they be exposed as much as possible to build their reading skills and knowledge of the world outside their community. We like to use technology and integrated units to use reading to learn about the world.
