My students need alternative ways to communicate their ideas using technology. Our students will use the document cameras to create digital representations of their learning. Rather than limiting the process to web-based tools, students, with the use of document cameras, can expand their creative possibilities to include student drawings, hands-on demonstrations, and stop-motion animation. The document camera assures that all students will maintain a longer focus and be able to more effectively follow along with classroom lessons and instructions. Using the document cameras, student work is voluntarily shared with other students in the classroom during whole group instruction to help illicit a deeper classroom discussion. Students' finished work is also corrected using the document camera so that everyone immediately knows if their answers are correct or not and can make corrections if necessary.
Your generous donation to our project will improve our multi-grade classroom by building stronger communicators.
My class can come up to the document camera and model solving math problems together while using manipulatives as others watch the lesson. A student can work to correct language arts sentences under the camera while others look on at what is being done, even as the child makes mistakes and corrects them. Perfect time for feedback and peer editing.
A document camera is a valuable tool when integrating technology into the classroom. Student learning will be enhanced by this addition to our classroom. Students are capable of seeing materials being used for instruction projected in large form on the board. A child's expression when they see their individual work under the camera is amazing. This will make teaching engaging and more fun for all students.
This will change our students' lives for the better by building their confidence and making learning more engaging!
