Small group reading instruction is important! As an educator, I use small group reading instruction to gauge where my students have gaps in their understanding of whole group lessons, as well as, reinforce the skills needed in order to be a successful reader.
Currently, I have one small table in my classroom where I conduct small group reading instruction. After years of wear and tear, this table is wobbly and one side is a good 1/2 an inch shorter than the other. Sitting at this table is no longer comfortable for me or my students. By funding this project, you will be providing my students with a new table and stools that are comfortable. Let's face it if we aren't comfortable it can be really hard to focus and get any work done.
Included in this campaign, there are whiteboard dots and markers to give my students a place to write answers as well as show their thinking during their small groups. As an added reinforcer, I have added phonics readers, journals, and glued sound flipbooks. I will use these tools as a way to differentiate my instruction all while helping them strengthening those much-needed foundational skills.
