I have a very diverse population. I have ESL learners, neighborhood children, and children from many areas of the city Seventy-six percent of the students attending the school are from low-income households and 6.6% are homeless. Our families are supportive and they are willing to help in the classroom, unfortunately many cannot help financially to defray the cost of classroom resources. In this era of budget cutting schools have been impacted greatly resulting in a lack of classroom supplies and resources. I am glad there are other avenues of support to help my children to soar, like donors choose. Donors choose allows my children to have a level playing field in this competitive academic world.
