The students need flexible seating options such as wobble chairs, cushions, and bouncy bands, in the classroom rather than just the school chair and the floor. There are many options students could use to help with ADD and Autism. My desire is to provide for my students' needs to optimize their learning potential. The students need a way to listen to good readers through daily listen to reading in a center with headphones and mp3 players. This promotes fluent readers. This supports the Utah Core Standard 10 in Reading: Literature for 1st grade as well as Reading: Foundation Skills Standard 4. The students need more hands on learning with STEM materials. Magnetic building tiles will provide opportunities to use critical thinking skills and problem solving skills to build different projects. This supports the Utah Core Science Standard 1 for 1st Grade.
