15 years ago I choose to leave my profession and become a teacher. It was what I had always wanted do. I completed the program and returned to my hometown to teach. I believe in my community and love contributing to the place I grew up. In my 11th years as a teacher, I have come to the conclusion that all students learn best when they feel happy, safe and comfortable. I try to make my classroom a place where each of them can feel "at home" and do their best learning. As the curriculum has changed, so has the needs of the learner. I have two hopes every year for my students.
One is to begin their journey to being college and career ready. However, the second and most important hope is that everyday they leave me a happy little human :)
