My students are the hardest working people I know. Every day, they arrive at school before at 7:15am and don't leave until 5pm. Every night, they complete more than an hour of homework. Their school year is longer and their vacations shorter than almost all of their fellow 3rd graders across the city.
Why do they do it? Simply put, they are chasing a vision. My students refuse to allow their zip codes or demographics to determine their destiny. Rather, they are resolved to proving the possible by going to and through the most prestigious colleges in the country. While they understand the incredible work this mission requires, they won't let anything get in the way of their dreams.
