Our school is located in a high poverty area. Our school's budget has been cut. I have 25 Kindergarten students and most are English Language learners. A lot of these students cannot afford even basic school supplies at home such as crayons, pencils and scissors. Educational toys are not the norm. For some of them school is the only place where they can play and interact with other children their age. Through that play they are able to develop their language, math and social skills.
