I am eager to give my artists a well-rounded art experience this year by introducing them to new materials and techniques. Launching the ceramics program this year, and I'm eager to share my passion for pottery, sculpture and the wonders of glazing.
The glazes, ceramic tools, oil pastels and decoupage will open a new realm of creating for my artists. Their skills will be pushed as we soar into the 3rd dimension with clay and mixed media projects!
Mixed media art is a unique way for young artist to express their individuality as the possibilities are endless! We will incorporate recycled material and found objects as we do our part to reduce waste.
Ceramics in the art room is valuable for middle school artists as it teaches planning ahead, problem solving, the application of science, math and engineering skills, and most importantly, patience.
