My students are located in an area of Maryland where a lot of families work 2 and 3 jobs just to make ends meet. The public school where I work is a Title 1 school. The poverty rate here is 75%. The population is very transient, students are in and out of our school in the blink of an eye. The students in my classroom are wonderful, eager children who are excited to learn. Many of them are coming to school for the first time in the United States and are just beginning to learn English. All of my students bring something sensational to our learning environment, and they all deserve to find their own niche within my classroom on a colorful, comfy classroom rug.
