My students are quite happily varied. I teach nonverbal students, gifted students, students who are hearing impaired, students who are handicapped, students who are overactive, students who have autism and students who come from various socioeconomic backgrounds. All my students share a love of exploring and learning "hands on." My school is very supportive and encourages differentiation in our classes. Our district's motto is: "children first." We do our very best to teach in various ways to reach every child. We have numerous opportunities throughout the year to attend professional development courses to better serve our students. My students enjoy using technology and enjoy finding new ways to learn "old" topics. We use our school's set of iPads to use various apps to enhance our learning. We have recently been lucky enough to receive some donated legos that our students will be using as another tool for "hands on" learning.
