After teaching upper elementary for the past seven years, I have tried so many strategies on trying to help 4th and 5th graders focus. They have boundless energy and have a hard time sitting still and focusing for even a short amount of time. Brain breaks periodically throughout class do help, but with the demands on what to complete in class each day constantly rising, it has become tougher to incorporate time for the amount of brain breaks we actually need.
I have read so many great stories about these Deskcycles helping everyone from kids to adults focus on their work, that I am anxious to give it a try! The DeskCycles will be helpful to my fifth graders as they can get out that excess energy throughout class time instead of waiting for recess, break, or PE time!
