My project builds a classroom library that students can access and relate to any day of the week; one that contains fascinating literature they can delve into alongside each other and even together while discovering their potentials, their voices, and new characters, places, and time periods they otherwise would never know. A diverse, modern classroom library and the freedom to choose their books will open the minds and hearts of my students and grow lifelong readers and learners! With these books, students will get to take ownership in their learning by setting and working towards reading goals, exploring ideas, expanding upon and sharing those ideas with each other through discussions and writing, broadening their vocabulary, enhancing their analytical skills, and ultimately growing more empathetic, responsible, meaningful learning experiences.
