Our school is the only Title I Junior High School in our school district. It is located in a zip code that has been identified by the state as suffering from generational poverty. The students entering this school are often deficient in their math and reading skills.
However, by individualizing instruction and using consistent, effective assessment strategies, our school has shown to have the highest growth score in the school district as measured by the 2013 End-Of-Level tests.
These students need instruction that is focused on their individual needs. By leveraging technology, we are able to meet the student needs, break large student groups into small learning groups, and help students receive more personalized attention. This has been a major contributor to the success of our students.
