This project will increase access to a well-rounded education by expanding sustainable fine arts activities for the system’s geographically isolated and impoverished school-aged population. Currently, music classes typically offered in grades K-5 at our elementary school.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, our school is offering music classes to grades 3, 4, & 5 through direct instruction online using Google Meet. These classes are 45 minutes long and are offered twice a week. The recorder instruments that are purchased with this project will allow students to have an instrument in their hands at home to participate in virtual classes. They will be able to bring their instrument to school when normal classes resume.
