GLA currently uses The Mind Up Curriculum. Mind up focuses on helping students gain awareness of their senses and how their brains work. This helps improve self regulation skills and teaches students how to manage stress. Art provides an excellent opportunity for students to engage multiple senses. Creating art encourages neural connections that help develop a healthy brain. The materials donated will be used to create stations designed to have a calming and refocusing effect. The scented play dough, crayons and markers will be used to create a scent station. The sand, play foam and bubber will be used to make a touch station. The foam paint, stamp pads and droppers will be used to create a sight station. The tape and art paste will be used to make paper mache' art projects.
