Next to our classroom, we have a smaller room that we use for breaks. Right now, it contains beach balls, a rug, a trampoline, and a twin mattress. We want more sensory items to help relax my students. My students need several sensory breaks throughout the day to self-regulate and remain calm. We spend about 10 to 20 minutes per break in our calm room. For this project, I have included several items that help meet the sensory needs of my students such as a tent, tunnel, chair, and other items. My students love their sensory breaks as it helps them succeed during academic time.
