My urban at-risk students want to read exciting literature on the way to high school and college success! By finding the fun in academic rigor, students will take ownership of their learning. To that end we will integrate popular culture and non-fiction into the curriculum, finding the influence of the real on the impossible to make stories that last.
My students are college bound urban 9th graders, who come with big hearts and learning challenges.
Literature is magic when stories reflect the hidden world just around the corner. Thank you for helping me bring it to life for my students.
