Having a set of Boogie Boards will certainly engage my students in the most important pieces of lessons across all subject areas from math to literacy development. This innovative tool will allow me to spend less time on things such as printing out paper worksheets, keeping and finding markers for whiteboards, cleaning supplies for them, and of course the pencils and sharpeners that not every kid has an endless supply of! This will allow me to be so much more responsive to the students, providing the much needed feedback in the time it needs to be given. The individual tablets will give the students the freedom to know they have a tool that allows them to feel comfortable to try. By giving all of my students, no matter their families' income status, access to an innovative technology, Boogie Boards will leverage a student's ability to learn and create, and give the students who need it the most, access to the kinds of technology that is an investment in their future. My classroom is a cognitively vibrant place where the 4 Cs of 21st Century learning are at the forefront. Those are communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Boogie Boards will allow all of my students to have an efficient and effective tool to help those essential skills develop, which will have a lasting effect well beyond the year I have them in my classroom!
