I teach the most amazing mix of unique personalities and wonderful talents in my 8th grade ELA classroom in rural western Kansas. My students are cutting edge, 21st Century learners with drive and determination to continually learn and grow. They're inquisitive, hard working, creative, funny, caring, and helpful, with limitless potential to be world changers. Our classroom is a flexible seating space in which I work hard every day to create life-long readers and problem solvers, as well as lovers of literature, all while developing independent thinking, effective writing and overall strong academics. My students are encouraged to use their talents to become leaders, authors, scientists, poets, mathematicians, teachers, learners and functional members of society by integrating technology into each part of our day, from Mystery Skypes to virtual field trips, and more.
