Hands-on teaching using models provides students the opportunity to engage with material that is often complex, abstract and often unrelatable in a tangible way. In biology, we are often faced with teaching concepts that aren't always intuitive and require the ability for students to wrestle with these concepts and derive meaning using models. Models also give students the freedom to explore new ideas and inspire risk-taking.
With these model sets, my students will be able to courageously explore how molecules that build life form, react and interact with other molecules, in order to gain a deeper understanding of how simple molecules lead complex life. They will be able to use these sets to master these concepts and explore the microscopic world. By contributing to this project you will be supporting these eager learners and enriching their academic pursuits through the use of models!
