Students in my classroom are constantly asked to be the leaders of their own learning. We set academic goals and monitor them with data, we present our work in small groups, we display what we are proud of in portfolios.
By donating to my project you will allow my students to use technology to take ownership in a new way; letting them demonstrate their understanding, and allowing them to teach others through the use of the iPad mini and Apple TV.
Students will use the iPad mini to present their learning through book club commercials, green screen projects, and use of educational apps. Students will take their presentations a step further by being able to show their work to the whole class via the Apple TV. At any point student(s) will be able to "log on" to the Apple TV and show how they are solving a problem, a strategy they used, or a place where something they have learned is being applied. Multiple students can then display their different strategies, that will increase student problem solving and show how many different ways a problem can be solved or text can be interpreted.
Ownership is a powerful thing! Join me in helping my students take technology and use it to make learning meaningful!
