My first grade students are excited about their future, are college bound and work hard every day to achieve their goals. They are mostly English language learners whose parents work in a variety of jobs including; factories, restaurants and bus drivers. Our school is located in an urban area in Los Angeles. There is a potential for gang activity and we have several school lock downs in a school year.
