The use of gross motor kits and sensory supplies is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in language arts and math. Using the CATCH, GGG, and Big Day model is almost a daily activity my students understand curriculum materials. With gross motor kits and sensory materials, my students are able to learn easier and important their development needed for assessments. What becomes a problem is the fact that I don't have enough gross motor supplies to cover for all my students and some tend to disappear. By having 12 sturdy 24 inch hoops, 6 rubber playground balls, 6 rhythm ribbons, 6 super 8' speed ropes, 10 numbered bean bags, 4 sidewalk chalks, 8 juggling balls and 5 foam sport balls(Kaplan Gross Motor Kit) and sensory STEM/fidget toys,, students will be able to engage safely in the classroom and focus on increasing their learning by leaps and bounds!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve the quality of my classroom in a low-income community and increase the students' attention, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic curriculum at hand, and not whether their supplies are going to work or not. Plus in this Millennial generation, our digital age students need all the support to help facilitate their young, creative minds to create a desire to learn and help improve our world as future leaders of tomorrow.
