Carpet time is a valued time throughout the day: morning meeting, read- a-loud, shared writing, number talks, and end of day. With a large classroom carpet, each student will have a designated seat, and allow our class to be proactive avoiding negative seating arrangements. This will make transition times routine. Students will know the seating expectations from the first day of school.
Who doesn't love a comfortable place to curl up with a book? A special seating arrangement in the classroom library will make it an even more special place to read with a friend or alone. The couch will be a permanent addition to the library while the beanbags will be available for use with iPads during reading and math. The options are limitless.
Our classroom is our home away from home. Designated seating in designated areas will improve our classroom culture and give us added minutes of learning time each day.
