In the times of COVID and all of our classes taking place online, it's tough to replicate the feeling of holding a book in your hands and reading it. The goal of this project is to put a book in the hands of every one of my students so that they have a physical copy of the book that they can not only use as we read, but also keep and return to over the years if they so choose.
Books can be such an intimate part of developing thought process and imagining dreams that it is beyond important that every student be given the experience of holding a book in their hands that belongs to them and is entirely theirs to write in, carry in a backpack, sit on their desk or bookshelf for years and to make meaning from.
This book will allow us to grapple with ideas of identity and self-growth, as well as family and personal relationships all while reading one of the most exciting Latinx voices.
