I am a 4th grade teacher in Michigan. I retired 3 years ago. I decided to return to the classroom because of the death of my husband. The majority of the students come from low income families and 100% of our students receive free lunch. Still, throughout the day students are hungry. I try to provide a snack for each student daily. It is hard to focus when you are hungry! Also, I wipe down all of the students desks daily. It is my hope to keep germs from spreading, especially in the winter. These are just a couple of things that I provide in the classroom. It is overwhelming starting over but I absolutely love my job!!!
