This project is not about what I need, it's what they need. Not every family can provide school supplies for their families. My goal is to allow students to access necessary materials from the beginning of the year, and throughout the school year, when they might not have the means to restock. The availability of resources instills confidence and allows the student to focus on their learning environment rather than embarrassment of the inability to come prepared. My students will be working in an interactive notebook daily, which requires notebooks, writing utensils, and adhesive. This intense learning process requires frequent writing and greater content retention, creating a stronger work ethic and real world preparation. Simple provisions, such as a pen, might lead to the next greatest scientist the world has ever known through a discovery they just had to write down.
