From analyzing the biological molecules found in the bacteria and antibiotic resistance, this project will allow my biology students the hands-on lab experiences that they deserve as aspiring scientists. For the past few years, I have completely transformed my unit planning to represent NGSS standards. Three-Dimensional learning in the science classroom requires students to participate in the learning process by practicing inquiry and designing solutions to problems.
The more my students are collaborating in groups to solve and investigate real-world phenomena the more they are actually practicing being a real scientist.
In this project, I am requesting a variety of lab kits that my students will participate in throughout the entire school year. This project will not be a one time experience. It will serve students in a more robust way. The kits I am requesting are:
-Food Nutrient Analysis
-Evolution in Real Time: Bacteria and Antibiotic Resistance
-DNA Damage: Studying the Impact of UV Light 8-Station Kit
-EcoKits: Oil Spill Bioremediation Kit
-Forensic Dissection Kit
Please consider supporting the young biologists at East High School.
