Yoga is a great activity to build strength, increase flexibility, and promote mindfulness. We practice yoga in the auditorium every Thursday morning. The non-slip, colorful Gaiam mats are specifically designed for kids to have fun and promote healthly habits.
Mats are essentially for a well-rounded exploration of all yoga poses. Our students will be able to move beyond just standing poses and safely strengthen their minds and bodies in seated poses, too.
Yoga is developmentally appropriate, accessible, and non-competitive for students of diverse capacities. It also meets many of the P.E. standards for flexibility, muscular strength/endurance, movement concepts, aerobic capacity, etc.
