We are blessed enough to have one-to-one iPads in our classroom, but unfortunately, not everyone can afford headphones.
With these headphones, my students will be able to focus and learn.
Imagine a room with 23 seven to eight year olds...
Now imagine that room with anywhere from 5-15 iPads going at the same time...things can get a little loud and crazy.
Headphones will allow my students to focus, and keep the noise level down (some), so that I can teach my small group lessons while others work independently. When students have headphones it not only blocks out other noises so that they are able to focus on their learning, but also prevents an overload of sound, keeping those who are working on other things from focusing. I love giving my students choices in class, so some are reading, some are writing, while others are working on their reading apps or listening to a book online. However, it is difficult to maintain when there are students whisper reading, iPads going, book talks happening, etc. Headphones will cut out students not using technology being distracted by iPad noise. It will also allow students to hear their own iPads, rather than those around them.
