In my classroom, students struggle with writing. I will use the giant magnetic notebook paper to model basic writing structures without having to waste paper. In addition, we have guided reading and center time in which students are all engaged in differentiated activities to help them work on the skills they need to. Having materials that are compact and reusable will help these activities be more accessible.
During guided reading, I need separate white board space to work on specific skills with my reading groups. I think having a magnetic easel on wheels that can also display chart paper will help these small group lessons be more effective. There is also storage on the easel where I can keep the books and materials for my reading groups.
Last year, my students sat in tables. They did not have a lot of personal space. This year we are getting desks, and since I am moving up with my class, I want to help them feel a sense of ownership over their work space. Nameplates always peel off and get destroyed in a surprisingly short amount of time. I think the sleeves will be more useful and also help my students be more accountable when there is guest teacher.
