Working with a special education population I have come up against many roadblocks. Many of my students struggle with the fine motor skills required to write. With the help of these iPads and speech to text software I can eliminate one of those challenges. My kiddos have some of the most amazing stories to share but sometimes they lack the ability and/or desire to do so in traditional ways.
Writing is a huge part of the middle school curriculum. It crosses between grade levels and subject areas. Kids are even being asked to write for math class! These iPads will be used to help alleviate some of the stress for students who struggle with writing. They will also make writing more fun. I mean, who doesn't love technology these days?!
