In our classroom, we are working on personalized learning. Students take ownership of their own learning by setting goals, making action plans, and taking the steps they need to reach their learning goals. Students spend a portion of each day with technology to help fill any gaps they have in their learning, accelerate their progress, and to produce concrete examples of their thinking and learning.
Some learning activities in the classroom are collaborative and require discussion, while others require quiet concentration. Our classroom is always busy, active, and productive. Having a quality set of headphones with microphones will allow students to both access online curriculum as well as record their explanations of concepts as they create their own digital content. In addition, earmuffs which block the sound of classmates will help students concentrate on their independent work. Having both the headphones with microphones and some noise-cancelling earmuffs will help us enjoy both types of learning environments in the classroom at once! They will allow all students to meet their learning needs at any time during their school day.
