I teach 9th grade US History, we learn from pre-Columbian era to Reconstruction. I’m hoping to raise money to purchase a class set of the nonfiction book - A Young People’s History of the United States.
The donations from this project will support student’s understanding of the different perspectives from the rarely heard people during the foundations of the United States.
History is written by the victors. We rarely hear the viewpoints of the workers, enslaved people, immigrants, women, Native Americans, and others whose stories, and their impact, are rarely included in books for young people.
