My students are creative, kind, and inspiring. They come to school excited to gain information. Our classroom culture offers opportunities to make mistakes and try new things. We practice being accepting of others, and loving and supporting one another like a family.
Our school is located in a poverty stricken neighborhood, in the heart of the Iron Triangle. The makeup of our school is primarily Latino and African American. Our school lacks adequate funding and many of the resources needed to offer students an equal opportunity to education. Pencils, paper, art supplies and books are hard to come by. Most of the time, teachers purchase these materials on their own.
