Our Pre-Kindergarten program is center-based. All the items that I have selected are to be used in our centers. We need a CD/tape player and books on CD for our reading center. The more children can hear people reading fluently, the better reader they will become. We need various literacy materials to build those strong reading skills because that is the basis for learning in all subjects.
The more engaging our centers are, the more we can learn and explore.
Having a variety of materials makes it possible to change out items in centers more frequently and keep students engaged. Student engagement is instrumental in fostering learning. We want students to be excited about learning all kinds of things, as Pre-K is the beginning of their learning experience.
