My students are the reason I teach.
They are bright, inquisitive, and always teaching me new things.
Students in our gifted program come to my classroom from 1st through 6th grade for enrichment groups. These groups encourage inclusion by offering enrichment to many students who are not officially in the gifted program. This year I am working on incorporating more cross-discipline projects. I also teach 7th grade accelerated algebra. My classroom is also home to the robotics supplies for our FIRST Lego League robotics teams, and in the spring, I coach our math teams.
80% of the students in our school are Hispanic and many of those are English Language Learners. Nearly all of the students in our school participate in the free lunch program.
