Making my classroom a warm, comfortable, and welcoming place is what I want my students to feel when they walk in. I also want to make sure that we have all the materials we need to have a successful school year. My goal is to always provide them with an environment that will maximize their learning experience and to help each student attain their goals. That's why I have decided to go full force on flexible seating this year.
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Flexible seating also allows them to become independent learners and problem solvers. For me, that is huge since our new generation of students lack these skills due to instant gratification and having things done for them. Therefore, I know I must show them the way and by making small adjustments in my classroom like flexible seating, would be a great start.
I truly believe starting off with these big floor pillows will go a long way because not only will they benefit my students this year, but also future students in the years to come. Thank you in advance to all those who donate and for taking the time to read through my project. A little goes a long way!
