As a rural school district, a High School, Middle School, & Elementary school we don't have the funding that schools in Metro areas receive. We have just re-introduced a STEM (Technology & Engineering) Class back into the High School after a hiatus of many years.
I am a fully licensed CTE (Career Technical Education Teacher) and have introduced a program that provides our students with a program pathway that provides them with real skills in both Technology & Engineering, focusing in CAD, 3D Printing, Digital Media & Design, Robotics, and of course Coding (Programming) in a choice of languages. I see this as an absolute imperative for all students to learn skills that will be required in the workplace now and in the future. With inadequate local funding for this enterprise I am seeking ways to get this technology into our students hands and prepare them for 21st Century.
