Technology can be a powerful tool in the music room. By adding a set of iPads to our classroom (including protective cases and headphone splitters so students can work in pairs at each device), students will have access to musical apps and software programs that assist them with reading music, creating original compositions using both non-traditional and traditional notation, arranging with prerecorded and original loops, performing using a wide variety of electronic instrument timbres, and audio/video recording capabilities to capture their musical creations.
All students in grades K-5 will use the tablets to collaborate with their peers and create original musical pieces. Apps and programs will be carefully selected so students of all ages, abilities, and exceptionalities will be empowered to use music as a vehicle for expression.
