I am requesting 2 cd players and 2 sets of headphones so that during Guided Reading, my students will be able to listen to books on tape. It is essential for young readers to be able to hear a fluent reader read books to them. Having a cd player would really help my students to become better readers. They will be exposed to books they normally couldn't read on their own. Because they won't have to decode the words, they can just enjoy the story, which will help them to learn to love reading! I am also requesting a book rack and bags so my students can easily access my books and cds.
