Most of my students come from low-income families and the only technology they have is their phones. Many do not have reliable wi-fi, or a secure place to charge their devices.
I am working on creating an area in the media center that offers a safe place for students to charge their devices while they are working on them. Have dedicated charging stations helps students feel secure that they will be able to have enough power to complete their projects and still use their phones after school.
I am re-purposing some counter height library shelves and transforming them into a seating area. The metal counter height stools will make the area functional.
