I am a teacher who loves reading and learning and wants to inspire the children I work with to do the same! I teach at an elementary school that serves a low-income community but that has high expectations and goals for our students. I believe that no matter what their home situation or background, all students have the full and equal potential to change the world. I view education not only as a place to learn reading, writing and arithmetic, but also a place to develop critical thinking skills, reflective learning strategies and as a holistic opportunity to develop the entire person. As I prepare for teaching 4th grade this year, I anticipate working with incredible young people and encouraging them to think outside any box they are stuck in and to see the world as their forest to explore and interact with.
