The materials and supplies that I am requesting in this project will all go towards meeting their individualized sensory needs. These supplies will provide a wide variety of materials for students to choose from and therefore allow them to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them in meeting their needs. The fabrics and mirrors will offer a space to see and touch. The sensory table will provide opportunities to experience new sights, smells, and textures. The Sensory Sox can establish a quiet, secure, spot for a student to block out all sensory input that can be distracting and overwhelm their senses. These and all the other materials will go directly towards student instruction and use.
With these sensory needs met, my students are often able to stay more emotionally regulated and therefore thrive in their school environment, home, and community! By donating to this project, you will not only help to met a need, but you are also creating more opportunities for new passions and special interests which can increase my students' joy and quality of life!
