I have the privilege of teaching some of the most academically motivated and talented young individuals in a city where struggles in the classroom are often overshadowed by complicated home lives . While other students may find "average" to be both acceptable and agreeable, my students regularly transcend the mediocrity that is readily available just outside our doors. Each day, I am challenged by my students to provide insight into our math topics that does much more than scratch the surface. In a world where math's relevance and application is sadly lost on students from a young age, my class attempts to allow students to reconnect with the material and make it their own.
